Google Nest Battery doesn't appear in the Google Nest App

Hello all. I just installed my Google Nest Battery camera but I can't seem to add it to the Nest app. I can see it in the Google Home app, but I have all my other cameras setup with Nest Aware in the Nest app so I need it added there. How do I do this? Thanks!

We discovered the same thing when we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) in Sept. 2021. The new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home App and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website. (Fortunately, they are included in your Nest Aware subscription, however.)

Google's justification for this can be found in this Google Nest blog from Sept. 29 in this forum, along with numerous customer reactions: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/...

We've been waiting for almost 8 months now for Google Nest to live up to this Sept. 29 promise: "we are committed to bringing the experiences and Nest devices you have come to love in the Nest app into the Home app" as well as "a desktop experience for the Google Home app, so the new Nest cameras and doorbell feeds can be viewed and controlled from there."

Hi folks,

I'm afraid this feature is not available. The Nest Aware subscription can still be used in both apps by adding the Nest Cam (battery) in the home where the subscription is. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us and we're always looking for ways to improve. We'll take this as feedback and pass this information to our team. Let me know if I can assist you with anything else, otherwise I will be locking this thread in 24 hours.

Steve
