Google Nest Cam (Battery)

I moved camera and changed Wi-Fi. I followed instructions to factory reset camera. Then when trying to add to my other devices in Google Home app, the camera identified itself as "Google Home Mini" and could not be added. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Goldleaf,

Thanks for reaching out to the community page. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties adding your Nest Cam (Battery) to the Google Home app because it identified your Nest camera as a Google Home Mini, preventing you from adding it. No worries, let's work together to get this fixed.

To add your Nest camera back to the Google Home app, your Nest camera's light needs to be pulsing blue; if your Nest camera's light is another color, the Google Home app won't find it. Please check out the following article for reference: Nest camera and doorbell lights and sounds.

Also, once you get to the part "looking for devices" in the Google Home app and it finds the Google Home Mini, at the bottom of the screen there is an option "Set up a different device." Please tap there and then select "Camera," and you can follow the on-screen instructions to continue with the setup process. For more information about how to set up your Nest camera, please visit the next helpful article: Set up and connect Nest camera.

Let me know how it goes after trying these steps.

Regards,
Jonathan
