Google Nest Camera not being detected by Alexa

I have 3 new google nest wired cameras. They are loaded in google home but Alexa can not locate these devices. I have older nest cams that Alexa can find no problem - it seems that the issue may be that google no longer adds new cameras to the nest app, only the google home app. Has anyone had issues with this? If so, were you able to resolve.

Thanks!

I have the same exact issue, and can’t find any solutions.

Google support please respond to the question queried above.  We purchased Google Nest devices now called Gen 2 Devices which do not integrate with the Nest app.   Have we now lost the functionality of Alexa as well?

Bump. Is there any fix to this coming? Are others having this same issue?

Sad to say this on a public forum but the answer is no.  If you need clarity open the nest app, look at how fluid it is, look at the design, it’s Screams Tony Fadell and Apple influence.  No look at the the google Home app.  Notice the app looks like a cartoon.  The icon of each smart item is drawn haphazardly with no thought.  And the implementation that we are so desiring is not there nor will it probably ever be.  Even the new nest cameras and doorbells don’t work with nest app even though they say nest.
Sad but true.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad, thanks for the reply. While I’m not super excited about having to use different apps for my different cameras, that is not my issue. The issue that needs resolved is that Alexa cannot detect the Gen 2 Neat Cameras. These cameras are advertised to work with Alexa and I’m not finding that to be the case. My old Nest Cameras are discoverable by Alexa but the new ones do not show up. I’ve run through all of the troubleshooting. Please advise.

Thanks,

Adam
