I'm hoping to help anyone who has lost one of the screws from the back of a Nest wired doorbell camera. I dropped one onto our step and couldn't find it (possibly because it was -25 C and lots of snow).
I found an old conversation on this site (now closed) where an advisor gave this information:
"Doorbell Terminal Screws: M3x4mm, 7mm diameter head"
This may be the correct size screw but there's no info about the thread. The thread on the doorbell screws is very fine, while all of the screws I could find online with the above info were coarse threaded (0.5 mm) I think.
A TV repair person finally found a proper screw for me by searching his collection.
Bottom line: Nest should make these screws captive, so they don't come all the way out when you're loosening them. And also, someone should come up with a replacement part.
Thanks for listening.... Tedd

I agree. I did a help chat and was told that they cannot send/sell replacement screws and cannot even give out the technical specs of the screws. He told me that I would just have to take the doorbell to stores and try a variety of screws in it to see if one would fit. That is absurd.
