Google Nest Camera stopped working and recharging

LATIKAMBOURKE

Hi there, anyone else had their Google Nest Cam stop recharging (I was away and battery went dead.) When I got back the camera just would not recharge - using the cable and charger supplied by Google. I've also attempted a factory reset but the device seems dead as a dodo. Any suggestions welcome - device is around 6 months old.

@LATIKAMBOURKE

I've seen posts from other customers who had faulty charging cords for their Google Nest Camera (Battery) and contacted Google Nest Support for a replacement. Here's one of those posts:

If you live in an area where temperatures drop below 32 F (0 C), you might want to see this post from Google Support this evening. It says:

"Operating and charging temperature specs for Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery):Charging temperature range (ambient air temperature): 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C). The battery will not charge when the ambient air temperature is outside of this range. Operating temperature range (ambient air temperature): -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to 40°C). The camera and doorbell are likely to shut down when the ambient air temperature is outside of this range. Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Cam (battery) use lithium-ion batteries, and one characteristic of li-ion batteries is that they cannot be charged at temperatures below freezing (32F/0C) without causing permanent damage to the battery."

Thanks. Does this mean a -1 degree C. temp will permanently damage the battery or just while it's at that temperature? I've had it inside for weeks and still no go.

I"m just another customer but I believe it just means it quits charging until it's warmer.  It does not make sense yours is not charging indoors.  Is your charging cable feeding towards the FRONT of the camera?  (That's how our power cable feeds.)  Google Nest says it's supposed to charge in 5 hours: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11052520?hl=en

And a white light is supposed to flash while it's charging:
