I’m having a bit of a problem charging my Nest Cam (battery). I have 2 or these devices and they have worked well with no problems.
the last time I charged them they charged in a reasonable time as expected. This time however I’m getting a message in the app saying that they are charging slowly and to use a compatible charger and cable for faster charging. The problem is I’m using the original cable and plug that came with them!
This is only the second time I have charged them from new so I'm a bit disappointed.

So just to provide an update. I have been on the the google support chat as mentioned above and they are sending me a replacement cable and plug. Hopefully it’ll arrive in the next few days and I’ll provide an update as to whether or not this solves the problem.

Do you have the charging cord plugged in with the cord feeding towards the FRONT of the camera?

I do, yes.

This post is reporting the same problem with the camera indicating that the charging cord/adapter that came with the camera is somehow incompatible:

We've had our battery camera plugged in all the time since purchasing it in early Sept. 2021 using the optional 10-meter power cable and the battery stays at 100%, and have not used the charging cord/adapter that comes with the camera.
Your situation sounds like a possible defect. Perhaps you should contact Google Nest Support: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en

Ok so second update. Google sent me a replacement wire (not a plug as I’d previously stated, my misunderstanding).
the new wire arrived the next day and works brilliantly and cameras charge as expected.
