Google Nest Cams not Displaying on TCL Google TV (58S470G)

Hi,

I just purchased a TCL Google TV (58S470G) and I am able to ask Google Assistant to display my Nest Doorbell Cam which launches NEST App on the TV and display's the image just fine.  My problem is when I ask Google Assistant to display my other cameras (x4 Google Nest Cams GEN2 (Battery ver. but are always plugged in)) on the TV. When the TV tries to display my other cameras it pops up with a spinning purple icon (Not sure what app it's trying to use) and the only thing that displays is a grey background with a slashed through white camera icon that says "Camera feed is not available". All my cameras display just fine on the HOME App on my phone and PC, so it appears to be an issue with the App on the TV or maybe some type of permissions problem.

I can use the "CAST" function in my web browser to cast the Google Home webpage from my PC to the TV just fine as a work around, but the TV itself doesn't display the cameras when asked through Google Assistant. I have tried factory resetting the TV, relogging into my Google Account, tried 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi channels but nothing seems to work.

Camera software versions: nq-user 1.67 OPENMASTER 361459
TV Cast Firmware Ver: 1.61.329909

Hello,  I have escalated this issue.  You should get a response shortly from a google nest person.  Once  you find a resolution please return here and let us know how it got fixed and what the problem was.

Okay thanks. I'll report back if/when it gets resolved.

Hi NoBlemish,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Kindly uninstall the Nest App in your Google TV. Perform a sequential reboot on all involved devices (TV, cameras, etc.), and ensure that all of them are detected in your Google Home App once they’re up. You can do manual casting or via Google Assistant. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy

Hi Kimy,

The TV doesn't have the NEST App installed (Not listed in APPs list anywhere), so I can't uninstall it. I just notice a NEST logo at the bottom of the TV screen when it's brining up the front door camera, which is different from when I'm bringing up the other NEST cams outside which shows a purple spinning logo at the center of the tv screen and then the crossed through camera icon and grey background afterwards.

Something I did notice, when I go to my Google HOME webpage on my PC and right click and click on CAST, I do see that the TCL TV is using "Nest WebRTC Camera Cast 1P", whereas the front door camera just says "NEST" in the Cast Tab when that is up on the TV.
