I want to use the google nest doorbell with my existing chime.
Issue: It only works with 230V … the Google doorbell works only with 8-24V.
Should I get a new chime which operates with 8-24V?
Additional question: Will the battery of the Google doorbell get charged when the device is wired to the chime? How does it work? Because on a regluar bell button, the voltage/current is present when the button is pressed.
That's correct — Nest Doorbell only works with 8 to 24 V AC and it get charge if it's connected to a transformer. Check out this photo to learn more about the wiring diagram.
