I bought a Google Nest Doorbell battery from Google store. I charged it to 100% as per instructions and then called an electrician to have it wired so we do not have to manually charge it all the time. After a week, I had notification that battery was down to 19% and it kept coming down. So the transformer was not able gradually charging the battery. I reported it to Google Store after troubleshooting. Then they approved the replacement of the Google Nest doorbell. I asked electrician to disconnect wiring so I can manually charge it while waiting for new one. When replacement doorbell arrived, I charged it to 100% and electrician came with a new transformer as well just in case. After installation, there was an eternity symbol on the app saying it is plugged in. But after 5 days, the battery was down to 3%. Does this mean that battery only lasts for 5 days? I thought it should be for at least a month. I do not have that many events recording. Why didn't the wiring helped with the charging at all. Electrician advised they have the correct transformer that Google specified for the doorbell. Need someone from Google Store (frustrating that I cannot speak to someone about this, only via Live Chat) to explain or members who could help or experienced these issues.

Appreciate your reply. I have been waiting for someone to look into my issue. The issue started again with the replacement doorbell. Last Saturday 8th Feb 2025, my electrician came to check again. He tested the transformer it was working and showed 13V on the tester. After he put it back to base, battery setting showed plugged in with infinity symbol. Today 10th Feb, battery setting showed plug in but 4% battery.
No power outage, no direct sunlight. I can check live camera feed. I have no idea how much power the doorbell is receiving. Events recorded are just person and parcel.

Hi @JulzR
Thanks for the information provided! Checking the voltage information for our doorbells, and the one that you are using, I noticed something. The recommended voltage for our doorbells is 16V AC to 24V AC. This could be one of the reasons why your doorbell is not charging properly.
You mentioned your technician installed a new transformer. Maybe you can have them replace it with another one that has the recommended voltage to use your doorbell properly. But in case you want to share more information with the technician about this installation, you can take a look at the following website:
Let me know if this works for you! Or if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help you.
Best Regards,
Debora
