My Nest Hello doorbell, the outside is peeling, I actually purchased 2 doorbells (2 different homes), and my first had this issue. I was sent a refurbished unit. Now my 2nd unit is peeling also. Can google help me with this? I think this is surely a manufacturing defect since both homes have a covered porch, no exposure to rain or sun. I have a subscription for my doorbell and other cameras, so I'd like to stay on with the same if I can get a fix?

Hi @dantaro3
I have seen many other posts and pics from other community members here. Seems the only way Nest is replacing them is if they are still under warranty. MANY others have this issue and you are definitely not alone.
For context--I have had a Nest Hello since they were first sold and mine never did this. MANY others have though.
I'd contact Nest via Contact Us - Google Nest Help and see what they can do.

Here’s a photo for context… I saw a post that claimed this was a rare occurrence. Did I just buy a lemon because I purchased the 1st week the Nest Hello was released?

Thanks Brad, I emailed support, no reply for 4 weeks. I can assume there isn’t a fix for this(replacement face cover or even a refurbished unit). There’s no way I would buy a new one and get stuck with same problem after 2-3 years.

Thank you for your feedback. I guess what everyone is saying is that this issue is known and Google corporate won’t help with a repair unless it’s within the 1year warranty period. I already reached out to support and mailed all the details, been 4 weeks with no reply, only the acknowledgment email. It’s disappointing to hear, since this group and community members were able to help with my 1st doorbell with the peeling from this forum, but now the message is to stay clear. Thanks for everyone’s feedback. No real resolution on the matter. Guess we all can imagine which doorbell I’ll be moving towards next, such a shame after paying the next aware subscription and all.
