Google Nest looking like crap not holding up to the elements

Even though my Nest Doorbell is protecting from direct rain and most sun being that it's under my front porch awning, it still looks like crap. Is quality not a thing with these things? I would think they should be built to hold up to the elements. I have two Next Outdoor cams that get sun and rain exposure and they look fine. What's the deal with the Nest Doorbell not following suit?

@DrewS1975

You have the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell, not the newer Nest Doorbell (wired Gen 2) indicated in your post. There are hundreds of posts in this forum about peeling Nest Hello doorbells. It's happened to 2 of our doorbells. Google Nest says it "cannot" replace the doorbell if you're beyond the 1-year warranty period. We bought silicone "skins" on Amazon to cover the peeling shards on ours.

Yes I know mine isn't a gen 2, but it is wired, so I chose the best available option. So Google is fine with an outdoor doorbell not holding up to the elements. We know they can do better since the cams hold up to it.

@DrewS1975

I agree.  Our older 1st gen Google Nest cameras, mounted under eaves or a camera shade, are all doing fine.  It's just the doorbells that are peeling.

Mine aren't even protected by eaves and are fine. They are simply built better than the doorbell is.
