Google doorbell (wired) suddenly switched to battery

My google doorbell (2nd gen wired) has worked fine for about 18 months. However, it has suddenly switched to battery and no longer activates the internal chime. Any obvious reasons for this?

That’s frustrating after it’s been working fine so long. When a wired doorbell suddenly acts like it’s on battery, it usually points to power not reaching it properly anymore. Could be a blown fuse on the transformer, a loose wire, or even corrosion at the connection points. If you’ve got a chime box in the loop, I’d check that too. Most of the time it’s a small wiring/power hiccup rather than the doorbell itself failing.

Thanks, everything looks ok and mechanical chime works when I test with wires. That’s the limit of my electrical knowledge so will have to get it checked
