Hi Rusynr,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear about your Nest Camera not connecting successfully. But no need to worry, help's here!

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some questions:

  1. Is the Nest Camera 1st Gen or 2nd Gen?
  2. When did the issue start?
  3. Are you getting any error messages?
  4. How far is the camera from the router?
  5. Do you have other Nest devices in the house?
  6. Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected?
  7. Can the camera find other Wi-Fi networks?
  8. Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?

In the meantime, please check the following steps to connect your Nest device:

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  1. Assisting Device: Your Nest Camera will try “Getting info from assisting device” (only when using thread or Wi-Fi device), in some cases other devices will try to connect before (like doorbells, locks, other cameras, etc). If it fails, you will need to try again or wait while the app skip this step.
  2. Network Reset (if comfortable): If you're comfortable with it, consider restarting your Wi-Fi router. This can sometimes clear up communication issues between your Nest device and the network.
  3. Nest/Google Home App Update: Ensure you're running the latest version of the app on your phone or tablet. Updates often contain bug fixes related to network connectivity for Nest devices.
  4. Check for Nest doorbell/camera error codes or setup messages.

Checking Network Settings:

  1. Network Name and Password: Double-check that you're entering the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password when trying to reconnect your Nest device. A typo can prevent a successful connection.
  2. 5 GHz Network: The Nest device might not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router offers separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, try connecting Nest camera to the 2.4 GHz network specifically.

Follow the steps from this guide to Troubleshoot connecting to the app during setup, to Fix Nest camera or doorbell Wi-Fi connection issues and to Troubleshoot Nest camera and doorbell setup messages.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Mario
