Google nest "battery camera" charge port

Why is the charging port connection set in 1 direction. I find the battery time is not long enough and decided to buy the outdoor cable to run the camera as a wire camera, but the connection port has only a 1 way position/connect, which forces me to curve and twist the cable back when mounting. The contact points are only set on 1 side for the cable to  connect/contact, it should have been universal, meaning the connection should have been able to connect in either position (poor design). This forces  the cable to only run in 1 direction. It is fine for just charging, but if you want to be able to connect the outdoor wire, it is no good. The wire runs in the direction, towards the lense. The outdoor wire should be have the connection head "contacts" flipped, allowing the cable to run the opposite direction way from the lense, to prevent having to twist the cable.

"Google designers", Please as a quick fix,  have the supplier flip the "outdoor wire cable connector head", if your not going to change the design on the actual camera unit.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
