Dear Google Team,
I’m reaching out to suggest an improvement for the Nest cameras and doorbell settings. Currently, Alexa only announces motion detected by Nest devices when the "All Motion" setting is enabled. However, this results in a lot of false alarms from things like bugs and headlights.
Other brands like Eufy and Ring include the word "Motion" in their settings for more specific detections like "Person Detection," allowing Alexa to trigger announcements without needing an all-encompassing motion setting.
This issue is particularly important because Amazon delivery drivers often hit or miss pressing the doorbell. Since I don’t always have my phone with me when I’m home, I sometimes miss notifications when a package has arrived. Alexa notifications for detecting people motion are crucial for timely alerts and to help prevent porch piracy.
It would be incredibly helpful if Google Nest could include the word "Motion" in settings like "Person Detection" or face recognition. This would enable Alexa to recognize and announce these events, providing a more reliable and useful experience.
