I am wanting to know if nest cam owners will be getting some type of monetary reimbursement for our cameras which will not work after Sept 29th.
This was never stated to me when I bought these very expensive cameras. I never thought even though my cameras work perfectly, that google would purchase nest, and tell us oh well?
Now what should I do throw them in the garbage, go to the bank, get enough cash out to purchase a new system?
If that is my only choice left after goggle just does as it wants with no responsibility, but you can be sure the new system will not have any link whatsoever with goggle.
Again my question is Google going to do anything to help the millions of nest cam owners?
Please advise asap
I do not want to be without a system for to long.
Regards

I did not read this, I was asking Goole a question, maybe I put it in the wrong forum? Just trying to find out what their plans are, since now I have to go and purchase a new system.

Just asking Google what are we supposed to do with all this expensive equipment?
Are we supposed to just throw away?

Yea, this is stressing me out. I have a doorbell camera, floodlight, thermostat, and nest secure. I’m in shambles because no one can give me solid information on what will work and what will not. I was told my cameras and thermostat would be fine as I use the third party Starling Hub for my bridging of the devices to Apple HomeKit. Nest secure is going down for sure. They claim to give you redemptive offer but I have received no email with a verification code. They are giving me the run around between Nest Support and Google Store Support.

Me too man. I just got all of my devices at the beginning of this year. More like April. I guess my main concern is the Nest Secure being discontinued. I wouldn’t be opposed to trying to ADT offer (even though it’s said to suck) because that at least would be better than spending $200 for nothing.

Still can’t even make that happen as I have not received the eligibility email.

Hello everyone,
The Works with Nest is a way for smart home devices from other manufacturers to integrate with Nest devices. Even after Works with Nest ends on September 29, 2023, you can still continue to use your Nest devices. To learn more about this change, check out this link: Support for Works with Nest ending.
@cwarren, i’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; we'll check this out. Just to check:What is the status of the LED light on the Nest Camera? Are you getting any error messages when you try to set up your Nest Camera? Have you tried using a different device to set up your Nest camera?
@BKR, if you haven’t received an email about the ADT Self-Setup System offer, you may check this link to Google Store Support to get help.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Best,
Edmond

Are you talking about this Google Nest announcement?
09-22-2023 12:11 PM
What went out today was Sept 29th shutdown or move to works with nest.. it errors out and wont let u add cameras.

According to the announcement, if you have non-Google Nest devices that are connected using the "Works with Nest" capability, that "Works with Nest" capability is being discontinued on Sept. 29.
We don't have any non-Google Nest devices in our Google Nest "home", much less any that are using "Works with Nest", so I have no idea what these devices might be. It does NOT apply to any Google Nest cameras.
The announcement has a link to this page, which suggests moving to "Works with Google Home":
