Nest Camera (Battery) - no low battery notification??!

Seems like every post about this gets closed without a straight answer from Google. Why is there no push notification option for low battery? Seems like a simple ask, and very important. It's frustrating to check my camera only to see the battery has died.

Let’s check the notification settings on the device. Follow the steps below:

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap Favorites or Devices .
3. Tap and hold your device's tile More Settings .
4. Select Notifications.
5. Toggle Push notifications off then back on.
6. Go back to the Google Home app’s main screen.
7. Tap Settings Notifications General notifications.
8. Turn on critical alerts.
9. Check for a banner at the top of the screen.
   1. If there's a banner that says "Critical alerts are turned off in this device's settings", tap Turn on critical alerts, then follow the steps to complete setup in your phone's settings.
   2. If there's no banner, you're all done.

My push notifications and my critical alerts were both already on. I toggled them off an on again to see if anything changes. I won't know for a while as I just charged the camera. Is this specifically supposed to enable a "low battery" notification? I do not see that you specifically reference that in your response. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for getting back to me. Critical alerts let you know about important events even if your phone's volume is set to low and you've turned on Do Not Disturb.

If the issue persists after performing the steps above, please try the additional steps below:

1. Check for any Android updates.
2. Turn off push notifications.
3. Uninstall the Google Home app.
4. Restart your phone and reinstall the app.
5. Turn on push notifications again.

Thanks for your response and continued assistance, but it feels like I am having a hard time getting a direct answer to my question. If everything is functioning correctly, is a battery low notification for the Google Nest Cam (battery) part of critical alerts?
