Hello Wired won't keep settings...

I installed a Nest Hello (wired) doorbell yesterday.  I had no issues with the install and it seems to be working fine.  My transformer is 16/30 so plenty of power. The issue is with the settings.  I make changes to the notifications section but the don't save.  It says "saving" and it looks like it does but when I go back in a few minutes later the changes I made are no longer there.  I have powered it off and on, and a factory reset but it won't save my changes.   Makes no sense?  Need help!!

EDIT:  After a chat session with Google Nest Support we deleted and reinstalled the app on my phone and iPad.  Settings appear to be holding BUT the indoor chime no longer works...  They have no answer...
