Help! My Google Nest Hello Doorbell is peeling and now intermittent with WiFi!!

I really need help here! My Nest Hello is peeling which is really strange and it's not that old! (1.5 years) Does anyone know why this happens? It also now intermittently connects to WiFi. I thought Googles products were better made and more quality? Have I got a faulty product? Anyone please help, much appreciated.
