Help choosing a Nest Doorbell

PSHomeowner

Can anyone tell me if a wired Nest Doorbell is compatible with my transformer? I need to know it will work when I am gone and the battery does not die unexpectedly.  I know how to change light fixtures and wall outlets but I’ve never worked with a doorbell.

Thank you in advance for the help.

If you want a wired Nest doorbell, you might want to wait for Google Nest's promised new one:

Here are Google Nest's requirements for its current doorbells; your photograph indicates yours is 18V 15VA

Thank you for the info.

Hi Jeran.

I have tried to respond back to you but the Google platform does not seem to be working well.

My doorbell that hangs in the wall contains a sticker that says it is a 16 VAC product.  I assume the wired model will work with my home doorbell; am I correct?

My home is not occupied 100% of the time and therefore I am concerned that the battery would die before I could charge it again.

Are these doorbells as easy to install as proclaimed?

Thank you again for your follow up.

Best,
PS

Nest Doorbell (battery) can be powered with wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz, worldwide. Here is a great link to get in contact with our Nest professionals.

Hello folks,

@PSHomeowner how's it going? The Nest doorbell (wired) doesn't have a battery that can last long, unlike the Nest doorbell (battery type). The required voltage for Nest doorbell (wired) to work with your home's doorbell system is 16 to 24 V AC (North America) / 12 to 24 V AC (Global), for the power 10 to 40 VA (North America) / 8 to 40 VA (Global) and for the frequency 50 to 60 Hz. To know more about this, just hit this link.

@Jeran, @MplsCustomer and @Brad I appreciate your helpful response.

Regards,

Emerson
