I've seen other posts like this. Unlike other vendors, Google Nest does not check in advance whether your card is valid, or give you any chance to fix the issue. Zoom, for example, checks in advance whether your card is about to expire.
And once your Nest Aware subscription expires due to non-payment, Google Nest deletes the history.

I'm afraid, once video history is deleted, it’s gone and it cannot be recovered and we do not keep backups. Upgrading your subscription is also not possible to recover the video history.
