I have a question regarding the Google Nest Doorbell Gen2 wired. When a user is using the motion detection recording feature, how can one check the recording activity from outside? The user manual mentions that if you are viewing the screen in real-time, a green light will flash. However, is it not possible to confirm if recording is taking place without actively watching the live feed?

Hello nicechang
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Depending on which camera and Nest Aware subscription you have, your camera records and stores either event-based video history or 24/7 video history in the Nest or Google Home app. If you've added your camera to the Nest app, you can view the activities your camera detects in the Nest app's Sightline and event history. If you’ve set your camera to record and save specific kinds of events in its video history, your camera will detect and process any important activity it detects, but will only save footage of events you’ve enabled to the cloud. All video history is deleted on a rolling basis. This means that, depending on the Nest Aware subscription you have, older saved video is deleted from the cloud after a certain number of days.
If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery), you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription. But for most older Nest camera and doorbell models, you need a Nest Aware subscription to get event video history or 24/7 video history.
