Hi Nicholas,

Depending on specifically what device you are trying to add, the answer may be different so I'll give you a couple of options.

If you are trying to add the new Nest Doorbell Battery, or Nest Cam Battery, these can be added from the Google Home app by tapping the + icon in the top left and selecting "Set up device" followed by "New device". You can then follow the instructions on screen to add your device.

If you are trying to add a Nest Wired Doorbell, Nest Cam Indoor / Outdoor, or one of the IQ models, then this will need to be completed in the Nest app. From the main screen, you will need to tap the settings cog in the top right and, from there, scroll down and select "Add product". You will then be asked to scan the QR code and from there you can follow the onscreen instructions.

Let me know how you get on and if I can help any further.

All the best,

Hi John, I’ve got nest smoke detectors, a wired doorbell and a wired nest cam. Recently I’ve added two nest cam battery. Can you explain how I manage the set of devices in one app?
should I use the Home app for all? Or is there an advantage using the Nest app?

The older products you mentioned only work in the NEST app.  The new battery cams ONLY work in the GOOGLE HOME app.     This has been a shock to everyone one as can be seen by the many posts here on this site.  I returned my new battery cams.  One other limitation is they can not be viewed on your computer's browser.

The thing is we care to save the video onto cloud, not inside the camera. Is video saved in google cloud?(such as Nest?)

I have a Nest aware account as I have doorbell, thermostat and outside IQ camera.

I was forced to upgrade to the 2nd generation Nest aware when I had issues with my outdoor IQ camera but was assured one of the advantages was I would be able to add more devices at no change to my new upgraded more expensive Nest Aware account

I have just bought the new indoor nest cam ( wired ) .. but I cant see how I can add it to my account

Can you please advise how this can be managed ....

Rgds

Anthony

Apologies if this has been incorrectly addressed .. I am trying to vent my displeasure to google support .. not sure if you are they.

Appreciate your response either way

It doesn't let me pass this step " choose the last 4 digits of your cameras serial number" it may take a moment for it to appear in the list. It never shows me the list. What can I do? I have my subscription and everything. I pay every month. But I can't add a product

I too, just installed the new google nest cam battery today. It only allows you to add from the Home app. So I cannot see it, not just within the Nest app, but I can't even see it online in my Nest Aware account. This seems really really bogus too. I understand wanting to transition away from the Nest app. But golly, it is a Nest product and needs to be added to that "new" billing they started not long ago for Nest Aware to INCLUDE ALL CAMERAS under a single subscription. Come on guys, get with the program!

Stirfry, I'm having the same issue -- bought 3 cameras and installed them yesterday, but they're not showing up in my Nest Aware account. Grrrr.

I just two hours trying to figure out how to get my new battery cam to show on my nest aware account.  Finally found this thread.  I think I will return the battery cam. I bought it specifically because it would work with my current cameras in the nest app on my mac.  If I wanted another application there are much cheaper options.
