I installed a 2nd Gen wired doorbell. It seemed to be working fine. Then I bought a wall plate to mount it nicer, so had to uninstall it. When I put it back together, it was working fine for about 24 hrs, but now it seems like none of the video is being captured for more than a few seconds and we constantly are having issues connecting to it to see live feed in Home app.
The wiring is a bit 'wonky' because the doorbell wires are old and brittle. When I initially installed it, one wired snapped off at the connection point where you insert it into the female gripper that came with the device (the piece that came with the doorbell that has 2 female grippers on one end and the 'u' shaped connectors on the other). I was unable to remove the broken wire from the gripper and had to jam the wire in and tape it up to hold it in place.
My question is, when I remounted the doorbell, is it possible that the wonky wire is not providing power maybe it got loosened and is not connected properly) ? I'm not sure how the doorbell works... Is there a battery that gets charged from the house wires? I'm wondering if it's running on battery and running low since I record almost everything.
The light on the device is solid green. The device info in Home says wired. I don't know if there is a way you can get info that it is not getting power or running on battery.
Thoughts? Thanks.

Having a loose wire can be a bad thing. If it's loose and is arcing, it could possibly ruin your equipment
I would shut the circuit feeding your doorbell transformer off and fix that connection. If there's more Wire you can strip then strip enough to make a small hook that will grab the screw on the doorbell . Once all together turn breaker back on.
Best of luck!
