I'm experience Nest doorbell (battery) cannot be added to Home using Google Workspace - workarounds?

I see I'm in good company with lots of other users not being able to add Nest doorbell to Google Home connected to a Google Workspace account.

However, once I switched my Google Home app to connect to a different regular private gmail account, then adding the device worked flawlessly in the Google Home app.

Note that I already have several other devices (minis, clock, chromecast, hub) connected to my Workspace account. Switching to a difference Google/email account is not an ideal solution for me as my primary Google account is my Workspace account; all my photos are on this account and they display on my Hub screen. Also, this account "knows" me ... knows my work location, calendar, voice, photos, my news feeds, etc.

I want the alerts from the Nest doorbell; I want to see when packages arrive, and view the camera from my phone and my Hub.  I do not want to take my Hub screen out of my HOME account and switch it to another account.

Barring some sudden solution to not being able to add this device to my Workspace account ... does anyone have suggests for workaround, hacks, solution ... ?

I haven't tried these yet, but two approaches I'm thinking of are ...

Somehow sharing my Workspace account with a different private gmail account, and then connecting Home app to the other account work (for photo) access?

Otherwise, could I share my Workspace photos to my private gmail account ... I guess that might at least get my photos onto the Hub. Anyone know if that would work?

Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

Is your Google Home app using a Google Workspace type of email account or do you have a regular private gmail account?  The Workspace type (formerly known as G-Suite) do not work to add a Nest doorbell.  Using a plain regular gmail account works fine for me. Just follow through the instructions.

Hey jdvaizer,

Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate you sharing that with us and I know how you feel about this. Google Workspace accounts are accounts set up by businesses or organizations to access different Google business productivity tools. At this time, you can’t use a Google Workspace account because the account data is managed by your organization. We recommend migrating your Nest Account to a personal Google Account. If you don’t have one, create a new Google Account

Many thanks for the concern. But unfortunately I have the whole house and all my services related to my email in Gworkspace (email family). But if I go to this particular case, first I want to share it with people in my family so that when the doorbell rings, the camera appears for everyone, but my whole family has a workspace, imposible to open gmail account for my all family. The other thing is that you can't make the doorbell ring on google nest mini. if I'm not at home and if this other person has to open the door, but those devices are in my workspace profile, Imposible to change all my devices to another account. Now I am the admin of my domain and I think there would be no problem being able to relate my devices to this family account. The problem is that this experience absolutely stops me from continuing to use google devices, such as speakers, cameras and others. This policy is unfortunate, one should be able to relate any device to any email that one wishes, it is in my opinion absolutely absurd this Google rule, some devices can others not...who understand.

It's incredibly frustrating. I have the same problem and I have to migrate all my devices to a new Gmail account, then share my Google photos (under 'Partner Sharing') that's on my workspace account to the Gmail account so that they show up on my home hub. That's the only way around it at the moment until google decides to enable workspace accounts to add the doorbell.
