Indoor Nest cam (gen2) cannot add a household memeber

I have an issue to add my spouse who are using hotmail account. When I added his hotmail account, a strange gmail email was created and added instead. He didn’t receive an invitation. How can I add his hotmail account

I believe each household/family member has to have a gmail account. At least that was our experience. But I can't find any explicit statement anywhere on this.
