I installed our Nest Hello a couple years ago. Up until a few months ago, the indoor mechanical chime was working w/o issue. The indoor chime has stopped ringing and I suspect it is the Nest Chime Connector.
Debugging steps:
1) Nest Hello is powered, streaming video, and doorbell outside rings when the doorbell button is pressed.
2) I checked the low voltage side of the doorbell transformer (rated at 16V, 15W) - voltmeter reads 15.85V AC
3) I pulled off the Nest doorbell, and measured the voltage, it reads 14.5V
4) I purchased a new indoor chime with the exact same specs (16V, 10VA) and connected it up... After a few doorbell presses, the indoor chime stopped working. When holding the chime, I can feel the plunger coils starting to energize, and the plunger that would ring the chime wiggles just a little bit, but not enough to ring the chime.
Is it possible the Nest Chime Connector is faulty? How would I tell?

Hi Brad - The issue sometimes persists. I ended up cutting off the pinch connectors from the chime connector and used wire nuts instead. It intermittently works now. What I’m suspecting is that one of the wires from the transformer or the wire from the bell to the chime… I haven’t had a ton of time to futz with it since.

As a test, I "clipped" off the press fit connectors to the Chime Connector. I then used wire nuts to reconnect them making sure there was good contact. Then I reconnected the remaining Chime Connector wires to the indoor chime.
Pressing the doorbell, the indoor chime went off. Success!!!
I pressed the doorbell one more time, and the indoor chime went off again. I did a happy dance.
I put the indoor chime cover back on, and for good measure, pressed the doorbell one more time and... nothing!
Very frustrating.
