Intermittent Doorbell Not Working

mfyancey

I have a Gen 1 Wired doorbell that has worked great for 5 years.  Now, the doorbell doesn't work consistently.  It is attached to a mechanical doorbell.  The indoor doorbell rings only about half the time, and rarely twice in a row.  I am getting no notification through the app.  The camera works fine.  I have tried resetting the unit and have removed the doorbell and re-installed  with no success.  Clearly it is connected to the WiFi since I can get the video stream.  However, I get no notifications at all.  What can I try next?

Hi Mfyancey,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that the indoor chime doesn't sound when someone pushes the ring button on your Nest Doorbell Hello (wired). I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts in this situation. Help's here!

Before I begin, I need to ask you a few questions for further assistance:

  • How many voltages do you have?
  • How far is the Nest Doorbell Hello (Wired)  from the router?
  • Have you already checked if you get any notifications using another mobile device?
  • Have you checked notification settings in the Nest app to ensure the expectations are correct?

In the meantime, please follow these troubleshooting steps below:

  • Turn off the chime duration.
    • Go to Settings and then Nest Hello and then Chime duration.
  • Check if Quiet Time is enabled
    • Go to the live feed and then check if Quiet Time is turned off.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
