Attempted to add my new camera within the Nest application and it automatically redirects me to the Google home app to add the camera. Once added in the Google Home app it does not show up in the Nest App. How can I add the new camera in the nest app?

Hi Kenneth,

The new Nest Cam Battery and Nest Doorbell Battery are only compatible with the Google Home app.

Google has committed to bringing over more features for the previous generations of cameras to the Google Home app but for now, you will still be able to view the live streams and event history of all of your cameras within the Google Home app.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

I will not be purchasing Nest camera replacements because of this.  I currently have 9 cameras I manage in the Nest app, and 1 new replacement I cannot see in that group. Integrating new battery cameras into the Nest app is not even technically difficult, Google is just trying to push people into an app that is terrible.

I agree with all of these complaints.  It is very misleading to not tell consumers that we will be unable to use the Next app to see the Next Cam (battery) cameras.  Really makes them next to useless. I'm going to return them for this reason.

I agree 100% with all the complaints posted here. This is not the first time Google ha omitted valuable information regarding Nest services vs. Google services.  Google owns Nest and still can't provide 10% of the level of customer support that Nest provided before the buyout. You even sold the new battery cameras as Google/Nest cameras vs. just Google cameras.  You're simply using the good name of Nest to get our business and then offering the absolute worst service and support possible.  You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

I use my browser to monitor my home while working. Now I cannot have this in a browser to view. To make this user friendly this should all be in one spot. I understand the need to grow and develop but not making things backward compatible or understanding how your users utilize this, is extremely poor planning and development. Longtime customers are what is going to keep this going, to not listen, exclude or offer solutions based on this is just poor customer service.
