Hi All
I bought my 3 Nest Cams about 6 months ago - does anyone know if the Nest app compatibility issues have been resolved?
The google home app, whilst great for some devices falls seriously short of trying to genuinely manage security incidents and provide any kind of critical alerts, particularly in the middle of the night - a little text message ding doesn't cut it, especially when I have on DND.
Thanks!

The Home app isnt great for anything from what i can see. You cant even set a schedule for your own Google-controlled heating... kinda important for a "Home".

The newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 get installed in the Google Home app and on the home.google.com website. There are no plans that I know of to ever make them work in the Google Nest app. Rather, Google Nest is starting the process of letting us customers test out moving our older cameras from the Google Nest app to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.
We're not participating because there are still Google Nest app features that have not been added to the Google Home app:

I don't know if Google Nest ever plans on adding these Google Nest app features to the Google Home app.

Thanks for replying. Regret buying them now knowing all these shortfalls in functionality

It's a very big club you've joined with the same thoughts.

Google destroyed Nest. There support sucks, there cameras break and they want a monthly subscription? Joke.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hear you and we understand that the new versions of Nest Cameras and Nest Doorbells are not controllable remotely from Nest app including some of the features and we don't have any news to share about applying this feature to the Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.
Regards,
Emerson
