Cameras periodically go offline due to poor connectivity in the cameras power supply. To fix the issue I remove the cameras power lead from the USB socket, wipe the connection and reconnect the lead to restore power to the camera. Experienced the same issue with indoor cameras and outdoor cameras, all are protected from direct impact of water. This is really inconvenient when away from home for long periods and cannot restore the connection.
Seems to me that there is a problem with the low power electrical connection where it develops a high resistance connection due to oxidisation between the metal connectors.
Is this a potential fire hazzard? What can be done to improve the reliability of the power connection?

Hello flinders,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, where are your Nest Cameras placed? What do you mean by "all are protected from direct impact of water"? Are you using the same cable that came with your Nest Cameras? It shouldn't be like that when your house electricity has enough power to supply your Nest Cameras.

Emerson

Hey Emerson
Re water impact ; meaning , out of the rain.
The problem is the low voltage connection on the power cables developing a poor connection over time, which means they need to be cleaned and reset . Makes the system unreliable for when I’m away from homes

And yes using the google cable

Hi flinders,
Thanks for your update. It's so strange to encounter this kind of issue. To further isolate this, could you try plugging it to a different power outlet and monitor its behaviour.
Best,
Emerson
