Locking pin on Nest Doorbell (battery) stuck in.

Hi, I took the Nest doorbell (battery) out to recharge it and now the locking pin is stuck in. Any easy ways to get it to pop out again? I have tried lubricating it but no luck.

It looks to be possible to fix but as the Reddit user who wrote the post below rightly notes, taking it apart to attempt to repair it will probably void your warranty, if yours is still in warranty.

Nest Doorbell (Battery) Stuck Latch - Fix : Nest

If you're not comfortable doing that, I'd suggest contacting the Google Nest support team directly.

  1. Go to Contact Us - Google Nest Help
  2. Select "Doorbell", type a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
  3. Click "Other", then click "Next step" until you see the contact options.
  4. Choose to get a call or call or chat with the team as available in your country.

Thanks David. Still in warranty so will log a ticket.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I just want to know if you were able to get a ticket for a replacement. Please let us know if you still need help, as we'll be willing to assist you.

I appreciate the help, @davidking.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi,

The unit was under warranty, so it got replaced. If anyone is in Australia and uses JB HiFi for the purchase, they were fantastic.

Regards,

Ray
