What device are you asking about? What type of router? How Close? Is there anything inbetween the units, especially metal objects?

Hi. This is a Nest Doorbell networked to an Asus ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 router located approximately 15 feet from device. The doorbell and router are on different floors, router being downstairs. The doorbell is installed on brick and next to a metal front door. The Nest doorbell is always delayed in relaying a signal out to our cellphones. I was curious, if this is to be expected with this device? I also have a Nest smart thermostat that has maintained a strong signal, though its path is threw floors with some metal between. Thanks for your help.

Metal doors are an Achilles heel of wifi .. use your phone to test the wifi where the nest doorbell is placed, with the door closed , and see if the signal is low there. That would be my suspicion. I had the same issue but re positioning the router solved it for me

From my experience the delay you are talking about is normal. I have had the original Nest HELLO and it can take anywhere from 2-8 seconds before my phone alerts me that someone pushed the button. The new Nest Doorbell (batter) is faster but there is a A LOT of problem with it. I bought it and test it for 2 days and decided the negatives far outweigh the positives so I returned it and went back to the old doorbell.
