Hi EastsidePorkcho,

I’m sorry you’ve gone through all of this. I know how you feel. I’d like to clarify some things — a few questions: what’s the model of your Nest cameras? What are the status lights of the cameras? Were you able to migrate your Nest account (your old email address) to Google? Also, are they still connected to your WiFi?

Your Nest cameras are basically connected to your old email address and when you attempted to add them to your new account, it prompted an error message that cameras are connected to an account. We usually get this error message when cameras are already paired to an account and we’re attempting to initiate a new setup. If you don’t have any means of retrieving your old email address, you may create a new Nest account and suggest to follow the camera deactivation steps.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

JT

So they’re attached to an old email I reset the cameras I did a manufacturer reset on the cameras followed step-by-step. They will just not connect they say they’re connected to my old account. I put in my old email address that that email address was hacked so it was a Gmail account so they will not reactivate it so I’m stuck with three cameras in front of my house that’s useless. I paid lots of money for them. Google won’t do anything and there are no help at all. The Google customer service that idiots so I don’t know what I’m gonna do. I’m just gonna throw thrown out.

Hi there,

I’m sorry that you have to go through this. No worries, let’s get this sorted.

Here are the steps that you can follow to remove your cameras from the old account and pair it to your new account:

  1. Unplug the camera(s)
  2. Wait at least 48 hours.
  3. Before beginning the pairing process, change the Wi-Fi network SSID. This will disconnect any devices that are currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  4. Plug the cameras back into a power outlet and connect them to the account using the new Wi-Fi network SSID.

Once they're paired, change the Wi-Fi network SSID back to the original SSID. Use the Nest app to update the camera's Wi-Fi settings to reflect the original SSID. You can also visit the article How to update Wi-Fi settings on Nest camera and Nest Hello to get the steps on how to complete the pairing process.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

JT

My outdoor cameras are still not working keeps saying connected to a different account but the problem is is the email that was associated with that account got hacked couple months ago so I had to completely let go of that email address, so even if I do a two-step verification all the stuff that Google Gmail wants me to do I am I’ll never be able to access it and I have cameras in front of my house that are practically new they’re not about two years old they should still be working so I don’t know why I can’t turn them on with my new email address to the same phone that I had before so I don’t get it

Hi folks,
