Hi there. I bought this nest doorbell years ago. I had a handyman install it for us. It uses the typical DING DONG analog doorbell. At one point it used to work consistently along with getting notifications on our phones. Now we rarely get the analog DING DONG and even more rarely get notifications on our phones. Is this thing busted, kaput, in need of a replacement? If so, this could be the first and only doorbell cam from Nest/Google that I'll ever buy. These things should really last a lot longer. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?

Perhaps the internal battery in your Google Nest Hello Doorbell is failing. This battery provides power to the doorbell in the instant when power is being diverted to ring your indoor doorbell chime when the doorbell button is pressed. When this internal battery fails, the Nest Hello Doorbell goes offline for about a minute whenever the doorbell button is pressed.
Google Nest says they "cannot" replace such doorbells if they are past the 1-year warranty. However, if you turn off your doorbell's "Indoor chime" option in the Google Nest app, your doorbell will no longer try to ring your indoor doorbell chime and yur doorbell will stay online and function normally.
This has now happened to all 3 of our Nest Hello Doorbells. We instead rely on "Visitor announcements" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451) on our Nest Hubs.

Hello everyone,
@CPrice, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far is it from your Wi-Fi router? Are there any appliances in between your Nest Doorbell and router that can interfere with the wireless signal? For troubleshooting, you may try restarting your Nest Doorbell and Wi-Fi router. Turn off and on your push notification from your app and monitor its behaviour.
Let us know how it goes.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
Regards,
Emerson
