My public feed on my nest doorbell has a 12+ second delay

Since purchasing the Nest Hello doorbell, I have been having an issues where the public feed on the doorbell has a 12 second delay. When looking at the non-public feed in the app, the doorbell feed is near enough instant but as soon as I try looking at the camera feed through the public link there is a significant delay. Also worth mentioning the delay is very consistent in terms of the length of the delay

I am running a gigabit connection at my home. I also can understand a delay may occur for routing/firewall rules but not 12+ seconds. I have viewed the public link on several different devices/browsers.

I have tried disabling the public link and re-enabling. I haven't tried any other troubleshooting steps yet.

Note: I am also using an all Unifi network setup should this be similar to others having the issue.

Has anyone else experienced these issues and any ideas what can I do to fix it? Thanks

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far? 

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’
