Nest 2nd Generation Doesnt ring on phone

I have a google pixel 6 pro. I just bought the new Nest 2nd generation wired doorbell. I get notifications on my phone, but it is a text message & not a ringing on my phone. This seems to be an issue as I've seen another post that was never resolved. I also saw that possibly my pixel watch may be keeping my phone from ringing. The electrician that installed this for me says that he has one at home & he gets a ring when someone pushed his battery powered doorbell  so it must be possible. Does anyone have any idea how I can make this happen? Chime is set to on & app permissions are set to allow notifications.

We've had Google Nest Hello Doorbells for years. When one of the doorbells is pressed, we get a standard iOS notification on our iPhones, with no options to configure the standard notification sound. The doorbells have never had the ability to "ring" our phones, though numerous customers in this forum have asked for the ability to do so. I believe the new 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbells work the same way.

ok thanks. i was kind of getting the impression that was the case. I guess I can get a google speaker, but they get enough of my money as it is. i did buy a chime, but haven't gotten it to work yet.

Perhaps the wiring diagram here will help:

Thanks. i believe its wired correctly. i have a pairing problem that i have to figure out. i have an email to the manufacturer of the doorbell chime. they say you are supposed to hold the volume button down & you hear a beep when its paired. the problem is, i never hear it beep.

We have an OhmKat chime, but I don't remember any issues pairing it. OhmKat has a customer support number that they actually answer.

We don't use the OhmKat chime anymore because the internal battery on our Nest Hello doorbell failed when it was 12 months old, so we had to turn off the "Indoor chime" option to keep the doorbell from going offline for a minute whenever the button was pressed. (That's a separate but common issue: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto...).

I have an email out to them, but maybe its better to call them. I'm not sure what part of the U.S. they are in. I am at work currently so not sure if they will be available when I get home

Hello everyone,

@Sovby, thanks for reaching out. We'll wait for your update here.

@chip651, the alert is intended to inform you that your Nest Camera won't charge when it's below the charging temperature described in this article and that battery efficiency is reduced. It's not an indication of a permanently degraded battery. As of the moment, there’s no option to disable this without disabling your Nest Camera notifications channel and it's not included in the critical notifications path.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson

Hey Google, why don't you get off your butts and FIX THIS FREAKING ISSUE!?!?! Seriously just spent $1500 on camera's and the 2nd generation wired doorbell just to find out you schmucks couldn't even program functionality that EVERY OTHER MAUNFACTURER does out of the box?!?!?!

This is absolutely unbelievable honestly......For a multibillion dollar company to be ran so shoddily it speaks volumes. If I ran my business this way I wouldn't have one..............

Get your crap together and have your programmers spend the whole couple days to write the code to fix this issue.......SMFH

It's bad enough I can't shutoff the stupid low temp warnings. Wish I had spent another day doing research before buying these as the software end support and updates seem to be NON EXISTENT......
