We implemented two Nest battery powered cameras in our store recently for security reasons, but one issue we are running into is that the camera view times out after a few minutes and the screen goes dark. Because of this, I have to re-connect to the camera all the time when I want to monitor the areas we are surveilling, which is frustrating. I cannot find any way in the app settings to "force" the camera to say "live" all the time, which is what we want. I understand that this would draw the battery down quicker, but still desire this. Is there any way to make this happen or did we just pick the wrong product for the application?

The battery camera normally runs in "Idle" mode when running on battery power, and only goes "Live" if it wakes up for an event or the customer sets it to "Live". But there is no way for it to stay "Live" on battery power, and doing so would probably drain the battery very quickly.
We've had a battery camera for almost 21 months, plugged in with the optional 10-meter power cable. When the camera is plugged in, the camera runs off of household current, so ours is "Live" all the time, and we've never had to charge the battery.
