I have problem with my device not downloading update. Device connects to Wi-Fi after factory restart. However, the app monitoring the download update only registers 0%.  The app times out and terminates the download displaying the following error message:  "There may be a problemSomething may have gone wrong during setup. You may have to restart your device.  EXIT Setup

Hi Siavakhsh,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Camera 2Gen can't finish the setup process. I appreciate all the efforts you've been making to resolve this inconvenience. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the behavior start?
  • What type of Nest Camera 2Gen do you have?
    • Is it wired or battery?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Factory reset your device: As you perform a factory restart. While resetting your device, this action clears your data and deletes the entire video history. Please press the reset button until you hear a second countdown tone. Refer to this article: Factory reset Nest camera or doorbell. Depending on the model you have.
  • Power source: If you have a battery camera, connect it to its original charger. For a wired device, make sure it is plugged into power while performing a factory reset.
  • Set up: The app takes you through the steps. Follow these steps to Set up and connect Nest camera.
  • Pairing: Ensure the camera is ready to connect. Visit our Help Center to learn more about Nest camera and doorbell lights.
  • Uninstall the app: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app.
  • Restart your router and modem: Power cycle your network equipment to refresh the connection.
  • Move closer to the router: Improve signal strength by reducing the distance between your device and the router.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
