Nest Cam Alerts Duplicating for Linked Accounts

I just setup my new Nest Cameras (battery version but I keep them plugged in) and setup Nest Aware.  Couple issues here:

1) I have two linked Google accounts.  Every time there is an 'event' on any of the cameras I get two notifications on my Home app on my android.  I went to notifications and was going to turn them off for one of the two accounts but now I am thinking if I do that it will turn off the event notifications for both accounts.  Any way to only get one notification for Nest Cam alerts but keep my two Google Home accounts linked?  If not, this should be fixed.

2) There is no way to sign up for Nest Aware Plus right off the bat after I setup the Nest Aware free 30 day subscription.  I even tried to cancel the free subscription and sign up for Plus but it only allows me to renew the free 30 day trial of the base version.  This seems ridiculous on its face because I am willing to pay for the Plus version right off the bat.  I worked with support, they asked their experts and they confirmed there is no way for me to do this.  This seems to be a pretty major bug if the goal of the company is to make money.

3) Lastly, because I am new to the Nest Cams, I am assuming there is still work being done by Google on the display and history of the camera data?  In order to see multiple camera at once on Chromecast you have to ASK the assistant to show you only one camera at a time.  We should be able to install the Home app and see ALL cameras at once.  That is how home security is done!  And see history of each camera from ALL interfaces at any time.  I am having to cast a tab of Chrome of home.google.com from PC to my Chromecast to see all my cameras at once AND there is no history interface???

I will keep my cameras and assume Google will be updating the features an functions in short order.  Seems VERY odd that a company as big and powerful as Google would buy Nest that from all accounts had this functionality, make you merge your account to Google and then lose functionality and not make it ABUNDANTLY clear that they are working on these features and functions.  I have been researching and I can only find third party articles that Google is working on these things.  And on home.google.com it does display PREVIEW but nothing else informative.

Looking forward to what's to come???  Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. Unfortunately, there is no such option right now to manage the two systems together. If you turn off the Visitor Announcements, it will not notify you in that case. You would need to log into each account separately and manage them that way.

Best regards,
Brad

Thanks Brad.  Yes, I was just playing with it the other day and researching and found that if I go into the Home Android app, make sure I choose the Google account that I DO NOT want the alerts for, then go into settings for each camera individually, keep Push Notifications on but turn off all choices under Seen and Heard it will not alert for that account.  But it will keep alerting for my other Google account.

I still think its very odd that although I signed up for Nest Aware free for 30 days when I first got the cameras, I am unable to change to Nest Aware Plus even if I wanted to pay for it right now.  I chatted with a support rep and they asked their experts and no one could figure it out.  I was told I have to wait until the free trial is over and then I should be able to go to my subscriptions and upgrade from Nest Aware to Nest Aware Plus.  Really odd to me that any company would not want to allow you to pay more money right now.  I even tried to cancel my free subscription but then the only option is to re-enable it.

Looking forward to Nest Aware Plus and more features and functions on Home.Google.com and hopefully more features / functions for the cameras on Chromecast.  I know I can use Google Assistant to bring one up but the only way to see all four at once on my Chromecast is to cast a tab from my computer to my Chromecast.  It is a security system, I should be able to pull up all cameras at once with ease at any time very quickly from any device, especially Google devices!

Thanks for the reply!
Brian

@buckeyes822

I am sorry to hear about this inconvenience, I can imagine this has been frustrating to figure out. I am glad that you were able to talk with support about this, so you could at least get an answer. I am not sure if there would be anything we can do for you here in the forum, but I hope that you are able to get upgraded soon. Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Brad

Hi buckeyes822,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,

Hi, thanks for the reply. Turns out emailing back to these responses doesn't work which seems very odd... I have emailed a couple times back and just realized those don't work.

Anyway, I did hear back from support telling me that there is no option to upgrade to Nest Aware Plus after signing up for the free month trial of Nest Aware. I have to wait it out and then upgrade once I have gotten through the free trial month. It's VERY odd to me that is the case simply because you would think the company is a out making money and I'm willing to pay for Plus right away. I think it's just a bad design / bug but can't get to anyone in development to have them listen. Anyway, too late now.

I was able to finally figure out the duplicate notifications if you have two accounts linked on Google Home. You have to go into the account you don't want the alerts for, go to each camera and turn of the alerts for each one and then you will only get the alerts for the other account.

Looking forward to upgrading to Plus and hoping Google keeps adding to the camera functionality on home.google.com and more functionality for Chromecast to view all cameras at once, control them from Chromecast, etc. If there are any feeds for these functionality upgrades I would love to follow and add suggestions, etc.
