Nest Cam Battery, I have it plugged in and recording 24/7, Battery went dead.

How many amps does it need available?

Does it need more than 5volts, like a turbo charger?

Hi MrDLG2u,

I'm an end user like you.  The first thing I would try is take the camera out of service and just try to charge it and see if the battery comes back up to at least 75% charge.  This will tell you if the battery is still good or not.  I might be bad and need replacing.    But I don't think this battery is user replaceable.

As for the specs not he charger I looked on the Google website and they sell Google approved power adapters but they don't offer any specs on them.  Take a look at the power adapter you have and see how many WATTS it is rated for.  For this topic WATTS is the important number. If you have an adapter with a higher wattage then that might fix the problem.

Here is a link to the ac adapters that Google Sells.  Hope this helps

I'm an end user like you.  It isn't so much the voltage of the adapters but what wattage rating.

it did recharge back to 100%.

it was very funny to see what the App said when I would try different power supplies.

some of the very  small wattage charges said it would be "changed in 48 hours"

larger wattage chargers said 8 hours...
