Nest Cam Gen 2

I recently purchased 2 Nest Cameras and set them up. They work perfectly however, on one I want recording to be triggered by sound (such as a pump/motor starting up. I have search help and youTube for a solution. Can anyone tell me how to do this please.

Custom notification sounds are currently not supported. Apologies for any inconveniences.

Yes I am wondering the same thing actually. In google help section it does say that the nest outdoor battery and 2nd generation indoor wired have motion and sound detection. I can’t seem to find anywhere in the settings that show notifications for sound events. I have a dog at home and want to know if she is barking when we’re away. Need to figure out how to get sound detection to work for my indoor wired second generation cam.

It looks like we are out of luck re the sound notification for a while. It may have been in Google's plan but didn't make it in Gen 2 Cameras.

I would certainly hope that they include it at some point then at least. Not as if the cameras are not capable of detecting sound especially when wired and constantly powered. Their advertisements with pets would certainly be deceiving as well in that case if they decided not to include it all of the sudden.
