Nest Cam (battery version) LED on when person not in the zone

Hi,

I setup Nest Cam (battery) as indoor camera, and setup a single zone let's say about 1/4 to the left most of the viewing area, and configure notification and event history off for anything outsize of the zone.

However when I move around across the other 3/4 of the zone I can see the LED of the camera light green, why is that? I searched the net and couldn't find the answer

Thanks

A solid green LED status light means "Your camera is turned on, connected to Wi-Fi and is processing images in its view.

Your camera could be recording activity and saving it to the cloud, or it could be using local storage to record and save video if it's offline."

There is no video saved to the event history.

All of our Google Nest cameras are plugged in, and they always have a green LED status light.

My suspicion is that the green LED status light is also always on for the battery doorbell and the battery camera when running on battery power because the camera is turned on and is connected to Wi-Fi, and is processing images in its view to determine whether it needs to wake up and record an event.

If I turn off the power to our one battery camera--so that it is running on battery power--the green LED status light stays on.

The green LED status light has been turned on all the time since 2019. Google Nest at the time reported that removing the ability to turn off Nest camera status lights “reflect[s] our commitment to respecting the privacy of you and the people in your home."
