Looking at the "pogo pins" connector on the exterior cams & flood/cam. This seems a little insecure for a permanent exterior installation.
My intention is to fix these connections with a little dab of silicone sealant. The cable will then be run through a properly prepared hole drilled in the wall, to a mains/usb socket on the inside.
I see there is a weatherproof cable listed in the Google Store at £30/item. So for 3 cameras that would be almost £100, compared with a few pence with my proposal.
Am I correct in my thought that the weatherproof cable in the store is for use with an exterior socket ? Not a very aesthetically pleasing, or indeed, economical solution.
I would appreciate any thoughts or comments on my intentions

The battery camera is now supposed to include a security loop:
"If your Nest Cam (battery) did not include a secure loop in the box, please contact us to request one." (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10919314).
We did that a year ago because ours came without one, and got one in a few days.

We bought the optional 10-meter weatherproof power cable with our battery camera. It has the same "pogo pins" connector that's on the 1-meter charging cord that comes with the camera. We have it plugged into an external outlet, but it could be fed through a hole in the wall to an internal outlet. We've had ours for over 2 years, through 2 Minnesota winters and summers, and it's been "Live" and online the whole time. We have it mounted under an outdoor camera shield.
Google Nest says the enclosed 1-meter charging cord is not intended for outdoor use, and I'm not sure it has the right specs to power the camera (as opposed to charging the battery from time to time).

Your solution seems sensible. Why on earth would anyone want a security camera plugged into an external socket is beyond me, which just goes to show that Google cameras don't know what they actually want to be. Security cameras should be tamper proof and hardwired, in my eyes anyways. Not plugged in and attached with magnets.

Tamper proof ....great point. Also agree re. the magnet, but now I have been hands on with one I'm a lot more confident as it really is some magnet.

Mine were complete with the the cords so all is good.
It's all part of a complete household re-wire so will have a chat with the installing Electrical Contractor
No way will I be installing external sockets though. That just seem utter nonsense. Might even contravene regs as it's a listed building
