doorbell delay

I am so fed up with the google nest hub and doorbell.

Only went best because we had a new heating system and the installer recommended it. That’s dreadful as well.

I was expecting more from google.

I’ve seen threads going back years about the delay from the door ringing to the hub. 2 years ago it was a bug they would fix but it’s still happening. The delivery drivers gone by the time you know they were there.

same delay when you are trying to connect to the nest heating system.

If you turn the sound down on your hun you get no alert at all, it doorbell isn’t on quiet mode then it should override like apple alarms do and ring anyway.

Hub / google home are not intuitive at all and dont just have simple menus and set ups.

I wish I’d never gone with nest generally for lots of reasons but the basic doorbell functions not working means it’s fundamentally not fit for purpose.

Even this chat function is rubbish, doesn’t give you the options you need so I’ve just selected any because I was getting irritated. Google this is useless

Is it just me?

All your points are 100% valid. I expected the best of the best when I went Google as I thought as Nest was a great and well designed system that Google would expand on that. Instead they made it so bad it's borderline unusable.

Would it be too hard to have 2 volume sliders, one for assistant/device and another for doorbell. I mean it's just totally obvious, even the Android phone has these volume controls and they are bloody made by Google.

Hi everyone,

@DnLog, thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing here your concern about your Nest Doorbell notification delay. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far is your Nest Doorbell from your Wi-Fi router? What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? Is your Nest Doorbell connected to a Wi-Fi point and your Nest Hub to the main router?

@Super_paulie, we understand where you're coming from. Having a separate volume option for the Nest Doorbell would be great. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send yours with our Send Feedback form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.

Regards,

Emerson
