Nest Cam (indoor, wired) are toys. Not security tools.

Have you ever not looked at your phones push notifications for 3 hours?

Then don't buy these. Because that's the only way they send alerts and they only record for 3 hours without subscription.

I have 100s of push notifications a day... they go to a page on my phone I don't look at often, and I normally clear all.  If these could send alerts as emails....  WOW THAT WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER!!!!!

I could forward that email to all my devices.
I could use IFTTT to turn on a light.
I could use power automate to send me an alert on teams.
If they could be viewed on anything other than a phone... I could with that email automate a TV to turn on to that Cams feed and see whats going on.

I could react in real time.

But only push notifications on my phone ... means more than likely the robber will have come and gone before I see the notification, and my camera will have erased the footage (3 hours max history without a sub).

I bought three,  I'm probably returning them as Customer support cant even price match my purchase because its outside the 15 day window. Like... when I talked to tech support about the issue they weren't sure the product didn't have an email feature for 30 mins.  They had me trouble shooting options in the app. So excuse me a simple user for not knowing.

These are toys good for like... when you want to see if you turned your stove off or to check on your cat.

Ring cams = 60 bucks do all sorts of things including email.
google cams...  = 100 bucks, (the sand colored one) only push notification.... then its a race to see if you notice before it erases the data.

What are we even doing? am I wrong? Did I miss something? If I did I would happily change my review here. I want to love these. Right now I feel like I've been Bamboozled.
