Nest Cam's will not connect to Google Home

Jason9500

Just dropped about $500 on several Nest Cam's.  None will connect to Google Home.  All of them do not get past the "Connecting  Getting your home's network ready" part.  Just a "Couldn't find an assisting News device".  I do not have a doorbell, just a couple mini hubs and TP Links outlets/switches.  I have deleted the mini hubs.  What gives?  I should have read this forum before purchasing them.  The old Nest was 10x better.  Trouble free install and instant live video.  I have read several "hacks" but I shouldn't have to do that just to add a couple more products to my Home.  Is it worth the battle?  Or should I just return them to the stores and let Google eat the open box loss and find something better?  If so, what is the best camera's out there that will be compatible with Google Home?  Thanks in advance.

Sorry my original thread was closed because of time.  I had to go out ot town for a few days.  Still having problems, assigned the router to 2.4 and then tried 5 ghz both indiviually.  Home will not recogninze the cameras whether or not they are 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 ft away.  It should not be this difficult to integrate a camera into the Home network.  I have never had trouble in the past integrating even 3rd party devices into Home.  Even the $39 1080p MerKur/Geeni cam I once tried from Walmart.  Which by the way worked fine but I was unhappy with the night vision.  Any other suggestions Brad or Steve?  I followed the couple of hacks from my previous thread.  I even deleted devices from my Home in case there was a conflict.  Nothing works.

Thanks

Jason

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. I know that your devices are brand new, but have you tried to Factory Reset them after you try to add them in? I would give that a go first. Because you are still in the setup process, the Reset shouldn't matter much but could help. You can learn how to Factory reset the camera here

Best Regards,
Brad

Brad,

I tried the factory reset on the camera.  I even twisted the base off and entered the 6 digit code manually.  I only have one network in my house.  I am using a Google Hub Model #GA00516-US.  I have reset the router, reset the camera, also tried it on my chromebook in addition to my phone.  It is so frustrating.  Any other ideas or tips?  I am running out of my 30 day return period.  Thanks!

I was not able to reach support.  But I did find a "hack" temporarily solution.  After creating a new home and deleting all devices for 1st home.  Then only adding one Nest Display device it finally accepted the cameras.  Now I have to slowly add back my other devices to make sure it doesnt create a problem.  I really hope Google gets this resolved.  Reading and researching this issue has shown it to be a consistent problem with on otherwise exceptional product.  Thanks for trying to help me through this.
