Nest Cam schedules

Hi

Have just bought and set up via google home app 2 x google nest cam (indoor/outdoor) at my work.

Assumed I would be able to set up a schedule in home app so that the cameras only come on after work hours so as to not constantly get alerts.  

Could not find anything in home app, only home/away routine via proximity sensor on my pixel.  This is fine if I am at work, but if I am away, or go on holiday for example then I will constantly get alerts from other people still working in office/yard.

Google states that a schedule can be established via nest app, yet whenever I go to nest app to register the cams and scan the QR code it sends me straight back to google home app so cannot do.  Have attempted to add manually using the numbers on bottom of unit but will not do anything there either, can get as far as the plug into mains stage but never lets me input the last 4 digits.

Google chat eventually says that schedules cannot be set for newer cam versiosns but can't believe that to be true?

Will nest aware subscription allow me to set a schedule?

Any ideas please?

Unfortunately, the ability to schedule your Nest camera is only available in the Google Nest app, so it is not available for the newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells that are installed in the Google Home app.

"You can schedule your Nest camera to turn on and off at specific times regardless of whether someone’s home or not. This feature is currently only available for cameras controlled by the Nest app."

So, am I to understand that for a minimum of 2 years google has made it impossible to schedule alerts? I don't need to be notified if I'm walking into /out of my back yard, but I would like to be notified when someone creeps into my yard while i'm sleeping, let's say midnight to 8 am. How is it so difficult to offer this feature? Why on earth did I buy this product? and, I really hope I can return it 😒
