Nest Cam setup fails during wifi section

MrsDepp

Hello, I recently purchased a new Nest Cam, the Outdoor or Indoor-Battery version. This is my first time setting up a camera, and I am encountering difficulties with the Wi-Fi connection during the setup process. I have tried setting it up as both an outdoor and indoor camera, and I have manually entered the password as well as attempted to retrieve it from my Google Home. Unfortunately, the setup process keeps getting stuck and will not allow me to proceed. I have already restarted my Wi-Fi, but the issue persists. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi MrsDepp,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Cam (battery) is having trouble connecting to your WiFi network. Don't worry; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I'd like to confirm some details with you. Can you please help me answer the next questions?

  • Do you get any specific error messages when trying to set up the device?
  • What color is the LED light on your Nest Cam (battery)?
  • During the pairing process, how close are you to the Nest Cam?
  • Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) between 3 and 50 feet from the Nest devices?
  • When and where did you purchase your Nest Cam?
  • Are you using a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network?
  • Are there any other devices or appliances (like baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones) near the device you're trying to pair?

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
