Nest Camera (Battery) Depleted Battery

INTERLINKED
Community Member

I have a Nest camera (battery) plugged in via supplied power adapter.

The battery, which was around 80%, drained to zero on connecting by cable.  The camera maintained live view and events without issue.   Then a day later, it went offline.  I single pressed the rear button (quickly) and the camera restarted and continued to work.  I thought it was a blip.  Battery is still at zero but initially thought this was protection.  Now I believe it is an issue.  There is no redundancy for power failure.  Also. Two days later, the camera has gone offline again.  Repeated buttons press and it came back online.

I've seen an identical post.

I cannot disable night vision as a work around.

The battery remains depleted and I am expecting it to go offline again in a day or two.

This now a liability.

Any help appreciated.

Hi INTERLINKED,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that your Nest Battery Camera is draining the battery too quickly. I understand how frustrating this can be, even though you already restarted the Nest Battery Camera but still hasn't resolved the situation. Let's work together for a solution.

For this concern, please do the following:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Favorites or Devices.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Under Device features, tap Battery.

If there are any situations with the battery state, the Google Home app provides a description of the current troubles.

Keep me posted. I look forward to your response.

Regards,

 Byron
